Description
Shikwa and Jawab-e-Shikwa — "The Complaint" and "The Answer" — are Iqbal's two most famous poems, printed here together as they are meant to be read.
In the first, a Muslim addresses God directly and complains; in the second, God replies. When Shikwa was first recited it was called blasphemous. The pair remain among the boldest religious poems written in any language.
